Coronavirus Travel Insurance

Falling ill when you are on your holiday is no fun and medical costs overseas can run into tens of thousands of pounds, and sometimes a lot more than this depending on where you are and the circumstances of your accident or illness. For this reason we are pleased to say that our new policies* now provide emergency medical cover for Coronavirus (COVID-19) risks.

This means that as long as you are not travelling against the advice of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) or the World Health Organisation (WHO) on the date of your departure, if you fall ill with Covid-19 while you are overseas you can contact the Emergency Medical team who will oversee your medical treatment and manage your claim for the relevant medical costs.

* Applies to policies issued after 4th August 2020 and starting with the reference TS/VR2 only. Policies starting TS/AR3 or TS/VR1 do not cover any claim as a result of virus pandemic

Which countries can I travel to?

You can travel to any of the countries covered by your policy as listed on your Certificate of Insurance unless the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) or the World Health Organisation (WHO) has advised against either 'All' or 'All but essential' travel to that destination on the date of your departure.

What is not covered?

Your policy will provide cover for claims for any of the reasons listed in your policy as covered in the usual way however other than the emergency medical cover outlined above your policy will not provide cover for any other claim as a result of virus outbreak, epidemic or pandemic.
